The SBD and I have just got back from a rather short hot walk to the edge of the farm. Life goes on. The hay in the long field was cut yesterday and is lying in long strips. The cattle in the adjoining field are moved on to fresh grazing. A lovely if rather warm morning. Lots of butterflies by the Eden Brook and beautiful deep blue demoiselle dragon flies.
Thank you for all your kind thoughts. I just felt it needed to be acknowledged that Robert made a big difference - also widely in the local community. He will be much missed. And none of this would have happened if it hadn't been for the SBD. I think everyone should have a dog by law! They expand your horizons and make you look differently on the world.
He sounds like a wonderful man and obviously made his mark. He will be remembered, and the ripples he made in his life will continue to spread so that his influence will remain long after all the generations who knew his name have gone.
