Red has just been licking her paw furiously and I have looked at it - I have a horrible feeling the site is infected. Just given her one of anti inflammatories I was given yesterday

I hope the antiflammatories help Red feel more comfortable.

It's normal 2/3 days after injury for the site to become reddened, it's the inflammatory response. Let's hope it's that. I guess it's a case of stopping her licking and biting the area as much as possible.

Oh, poor Red! That looks sore. Hope she's OK and you're able to stop her from licking it. I'm just remembering the problems I had with trying to stop Joy licking her paw when she'd cut it.

Poor Red. For this kind of paw injury and Charlie has a had a few! I put a sock on and tape the top with vet wrap. Stops any licking. Hope she recovers soon. xx

Have you got any hibiscrub or leucillin? I find these help keep the area clean and reduce inflammaction.

Yes I used Hibiscrub this morning and will do again later.
