Photos of our old dogs - Billy

He wasn't as small as he looks here. He was about Collie size. He was otherwise known as "shag-nasty"- he had an eye for the bitches and it was in the days when dogs were allowed to roam. He once spent 4 nights out in sub zero temperatures up at a farm gate about a mile away...He was a super dog.

These are two of my old pals . Lab Tess with terrier puppy Lily , both French dogs . We rescued Lily and her brother Paddy from an absolutely shocking home , both had health problems due to interbreeding , consequently we lost dear Paddy when he was only two years old . Tess and Lily were very bonded , we lost Tess in the spring of 2011 to liver cancer , she was ten years old . Lily was bereft and so we got darling Sam to keep her company but we lost Lily not long afterwards x

How very sad that their health was not good @kateincornwall
Karen , they were delightful , but terrible breeding, sick Mother and lack of food took its toll . Little Paddy had appalling skeletal frame problems , spinal and back legs . Lily had brain damage and suffered seizures as a result , often two or three a day until we got help for her . We knew that they were on borrowed time but just couldnt leave them where they were , Paul bribed the owner to let us take them and gave him a ridiculous amount of money but , what do you do ? x

Sounds more and more like my Smokey Jo. Once he as on the way to Battersea Dogs' Home as he used to wander, just managed to find him at police station.
