Playing with a sock-on-a-bungee-cord

This is Tess playing the chasing game - like a flirt pole but easier to carry. The video's not very clear because I tried to prop my phone in a tree and then I moved out of shot for part of it. But I hope it shows that it is a chasing rather than tugging game. Tess has a release word - 'ready'- and knows not to start chasing even if I'm waving the toy around or moving until I say 'get it'.

She loves that! Reminded me of good times with my first Rottie: my dad built him a larger but similar-idea toy but hung it outside from something sturdy. He loved playing with that thing!

Is this part of Tess’ training vs strictly a game? Just the way you described the commands (over my head I have to admit! ), it sounds like it.

@Jacqui-S Yes it is an old sock tied to a length of bungee cord that I found washed up on the beach! Cheapest toy ever! @Emily_Babbelhund Well I suppose it started as a training exercise - 'you stay in the position your in until I release you' kind of thing, but really now it's just fun/engagement.
