Poor Nelly

Oh friends , we have had two days of terrible upset with our little soldier . Her one back leg has given up the ghost , she can no longer walk , just scooting slowly on her bottom whilst the leg is just dangling, useless . We have been to the Vets , she has anti inflams and pain killers , we have to monitor her for 24 hours . Honestly , she has been doing so well although we always knew that both back legs were seriously compromised but we thought she was coping and now she isnt . I sort of know where this is heading but cant bear the thought of it , and yet we cannot let her be in pain . We are having to carry her out to the grass to toilet but even this is proving difficult for her now . I just needed to write this down to try and make some sense of it all xxxx

Thank you dear friends for all your well wishes . This morning , she is using the leg , not as she had been doing but she has used it and managed to have a poo without help . I am now wondering if this is neurological , caused by her chiari , if this is the case then there is hope and the anti inflams will help a lot . Lots of rest for her today and watching over her constantly xx

I was so upset for you when I read your initial news just now, but now I see there is some hope. Nelly has been such a brave little soul, she deserves the best. Maybe she just twisted her leg? Would hydrotherapy help to strengthen her leg if it continues to improve? :lambies:
