Thank you dear friends for all your well wishes . This morning , she is using the leg , not as she had been doing but she has used it and managed to have a poo without help . I am now wondering if this is neurological , caused by her chiari , if this is the case then there is hope and the anti inflams will help a lot . Lots of rest for her today and watching over her constantly xx

Following a reasonable start to the day , Nelly has taken a nosedive and doesnt want to even try to walk . I am having to wash her bottom as she is finding it hard to stand to poo, not that I mind doing it . I think the next few days will be crucial with regards to her future which fills us with great sadness .Thank you again for your support, it means so very much xx

This morning , I am cautiously optimistic as Nelly is much brighter in herself and is using the leg much more than yesterday I know that she has a long way to go yet but I do believe that the anti inflams and gabapentin are kicking in and helping our little soldier . Thank you again for all the lambies and get well wishes , Nelly has gone through so much over the past year and so we are doing everything we can to keep her going in comfort and not just for us xxx
P.S. Unfortunately , Chiari Malformation can progress , there is no cure and surgery, which involves making a hole in the skull to release pressure , is often not successful as the hole closes and you are back to square one . Its a case of managing the pain and loss of mobility until you cannot help any more xx

It is quite shattering at times , but she is worth every bit of worry . Its a case of taking each day as it comes and making sure that she is our priority and not our feelings xx

Further improvement yesterday when Nelly hopped into the kitchen when I was preparing the dogs teas . I had a hospital appointment yesterday so we took the dogs , they stayed in the car with Paul . This afternoon , Paul has a diabetic check at the doctors and I must go with him so auntie @Emily_Babbelhund is coming over to stay with the dogs at our home whilst I am with Paul , no doubt Reuben will be thrilled to bits and Nelly loves auntie so I wont be worried about leaving her at home alone xxx

I’m a very exciting dog sitter. They’ve instantly all fallen asleep!



Plus I can’t move because Nelly is in my lap. So much for my threat to Paul to eat all his chocolate while they are gone.

pee ess: As soon as Kate left, Reuben looked at me like I’d just threw all his toys away. Apparently he only loves me to bits as long as his beloved Mama is here. She’ll be back soon, ya big sweet softie!
