Poor old Pongo

I know it's nothing compared to some of the traumas our forum dogs seem to be going through at the moment, but I do hate it when the big Pongster is under the weather. Just back from the vets because he was worrying at his ears and normal drops didn't seem to be helping. Sure enough when she had a look down there she saw massive inflammation and gunk, more than usual, and the skin looking a bit ulcerated and very sore. She gave him a steroid injection as an anti-inflammatory and I've got pills (steroids) and drops (stronger than his usual ones) to give him for the next few days. As usual after a steroid injection, he is now through in the other room feeling sorry for himself, doesn't want to come in here with us, just wants to flop. I'm telling myself that he's probably already appreciating a reduced feeling of itchiness but he just looks sad. I'd happily take his itchy ears for him if that would make him feel better.
:'(

Here's a question....so Pongo has had a steroid injection this afternoon and I have got steroid tablets to give him daily (two per day for a week). Does anyone know if I'm meant to give him his first dose tonight, or would it be tomorrow (when the injection will have worked through a bit)? Yes, I know I should have asked the vet....

Usually, the tablets are started the day following the injection , so none today ! x This is how it was when Sam was on them because the injection usually delivers quite a large shot and quickly too x
