Poorly boy

So glad to read that Reuben is doing better. That photo of him and Nelly! :inlove:

And the hungry hypno-stare! 😂 Boy, do I see that face often. "I am dyyyyying here!!!!!" - Señor Carbón from 4 hours before a scheduled meal onwards.

Having got his tummy back to normal , my Master Scrounger found a stash of apples in the woods yesterday, left to feed the deer , well lets just say that the stash is now a little smaller than it was  He has had explosive emissions, starting at silly o`clock this morning , thankfully making it out into the garden in time . Back to the rice and fish with prokolin chucked in for good measure x

Glad Reuben is doing a little better...yeesh, these boys! And you were very brave to go out in that rain today. Carbon and I are hiding indoors.

You know, people who don't have Labradors but are familiar with the stereotype of them eating everything and make jokes about it...these people (including myself when I was in that camp) do not understand that this Labrador trait is not cute or funny. It's a real pain in the backside and can be deadly. I love my boy but he has eaten everything from rat poison to human poo to rotten crabs, and that's with me being vigilant. If I get him to a respectable old age without him offing himself through his own choice of what is edible, it will be a miracle!

Then Reuben pulling mussels off the rocks at Porthcothan and eating them
Heh, heh...Carbon still has to go up to the walls there and have a sniff at the mussels. You can hear his brain whirring: "I know my amigo Reuben found something here to eat years ago, but I cannot remember what it was!"

Thank goodness he never really took to the mussels the way he has dead crabs and seaweed!

Yes, I still think about the time Chewie had to have a kebab skewer endoscopically retrieved. Makes me think twice before making kebabs that's for sure... We now do a skewer headcount every time.

Nelly was the worst of the three if I remember rightly
My own small little munchkin is probably the worst of the bunch for this, too. She eats pine cones. The others sometimes crunch them up and spit them out (not Willow, though, pine cones are precious and must be collected and stored in-mouth to keep them safe), but Nugget EATS them. That cannot be good news. Happily, she came with a reasonable "leave it" and spits it out when asked, but as we all know, that doesn't help when she does it surreptitiously. I threatened her with a muzzle. She squeaked and span in circles.

Carbon says, "Claro que si, but of course one EATS the pinecones. What a waste to simply chew them up and spit them out...also terrible manners!"

He once ate a stick at the beach and then proceeded to vomit up ONLY THE WOOD for the afternoon. Not his breakfast or other food I'd given him, just the wood. That's some kind of Labrador magic right there. 😂
