Poorly ear

She's fine this morning, thank you, just a little bit subdued.

The weirdness was over by 10 pm, after a big drink and a couple of garden trips she settled in her bed.

So Cassie has been for her check up a week on from having her ear flushed out, and all is fine. The vet said that the ear canal and drum are now completely clear if still a little pink looking, and there is just one more dose of the antimicrobial/antifungal treatment to go in her ear, and two more doses of steroids to have, so I am really hoping that the problem doesn't recur. Cass has been much more tolerant of having her ear looked at etc the last few days and indeed was happy to allow the student vet present today to examine her ear with the aurascope, which does indicate that it is no longer as sore as it has been - thank goodness!
The vet we saw today thinks that there must have been something in it initially and all the gunk etc built up around it, because it is unusual for only one ear to be so affected. If it was an allergy then both ears would have symptoms, and she never presented with a rip roaring obvious infection, only low bacterial load on cytology. Pretty much what I was thinking myself.
