Poorly Monty

Ah thank you for all your kind words. Monty is back home now after a full day of being on a drip and strong drugs. Bloods were all good, so they did a stomach xray to rule out a blockage. His electrolytes were really low hence the rehydration by drip. Although I think we have probably paid the best part of £500 just to treat a bug, she did say he could have gone downhill quickly in another 12 hours if he carried on vomiting(which he did again in the vets after I dropped him off today.) He is much brighter now and just had some chicken and rice. Another appt is pre booked for 9.30am just in case, hope we can cancel it.
Number of thoughts on what might have caused it, one slightly sinister which I'm trying not to think about.

Good to read Monty is back home, lets hope it's onwards and upwards. As for £500 -- better safe than sorry. xx
So glad Monty is home, that's a relief. You acted promptly Natalie so worth every penny. I hope he perks up and feels himself very soon. Sending :hug: to you and Monty xxx
I probably sounded really tight in my post! Of course we would pay whatever it takes to make him well, but crikey those vet costs add up, don't they?she talked me through a scenario this morning that could have cost £2,000, it's frightening if you are on a budget / without insurance. I know people who wouldn't have considered going to the vet in our circumstances.

Oh, and no rheuomcam for a few days, which has not happened in over 4 years, so will be a balance keeping his joints comfortable 🤨

Sorry if I upset you with my reply it wasn't intended.
Goodness no of course you didn't! I have an annoying personality trait of mentioning how much things cost when I am a bit taken aback!

It's actually good to know that you would all have done something similar, as no doubt some people think we may have overreacted.

Slightly sad and still a little red eyed boy

So glad he’s back home safe & sound.

I would have definitely taken him to the vets - I’m a firm believer in I’d rather be told nothing was wrong than leave it too late.

I’m just glad my child is covered by the NHS as I couldn’t afford 2!
