We heard today that a rather lovely bitch we know may be mating in May, so we've put our names down for 'let us know what happens'... if the stars align, it'd be a puppy in September time. Plenty of time to prepare Kipper for a little bro

One of the things we’ve been keen to find is a lighter build dog, and Amber is a more petite, fine girl. She’s also got a lovely temperament, so it’ll be interesting to see how it develops!

Having for the first time a lighter build little Lab myself ( not actually on purpose, she just turned out that way) I can definitely see the advantages. She's much more agile than my previous Labs, so finds it easier to get over/around stiles and similar obstacles, she's very nippy when it comes to fetching a ball (you may remember that she was a at Flyball) and she's easier to pick up if necessary. The smallness in stature however in no way corresponds to the size of her courage, heart, or love for me.

Your description of GGJ fits Tuppence very well too. She’s a working-type lab, whereas Wispa is mostly from show stock, and is able to curl up into an amazingly small ball and find a space on the sofa, having rearranged the cushions first of course, and is currently napping tucked up by my side. I just can’t work out how she manages to stay so small and neat while eating the same amount of food and treats as Wispa - and even more if she scavenges too!

She looks very GGJ-like there, apart from the fact that Joy rather tends to prefer to spread herself out to look as long as possible! Still slender and small though!
