Exciting news, just like having to wait nearly 8months....
Well it will give you chance to prepare for all the chewing, biting, late nights, early mornings, middle of the nights, eating everything in sight (oh wait that never stops) etc. Yep getting a puppy sounds like a good idea

That's great news, @HAH - congratulations! I know from personal experience (well documented on the other forum 
) that searching for that perfect breeder is quite a challenge! Now I'm curious to see what "preparing Kipper" looks like. Very serious chats about responsibilities as an older brother? Lectures on sharing? 
@SwampDonkey you must be feeling so disappointed as I know getting a new puppy is a big motivation for you. Maybe if situations change, your feelings about a puppy will change too. Never say never.

It's more whether I will be well enough or alive at the moment. I really would like to have another but must wait at the moment and the surgeries I may have to have will hold me back So everything's on hold and I'm hoping for the best. Well, this thread went a bit quiet. We decided not to puppy up back in January 2022 as life took over, and actually it was the right decision at the time.
However... the stars are realigning and we may - just may - be puppying up around mid-June, all things going well. I'll keep you posted!

No, seriously, that's wonderful news - I'm really happy for you. That's both for the puppy and that you're in a good spot in life where you're feeling the time is right.
My contract ends in July so the timing isn’t really right as such, but it’s been worse - something’ll come up, and we’re trusting in providence for now!

I guess puppy has been born 
Well they’re only 8 days old, and we’ve still got a few things to align so not guaranteed - but we’re going to visit them in a couple of weeks. We’re looking at a boy, dark yellow lab.
