This offering appeared on our floor courtesy of a visiting doodle a couple of years ago.
A long dead, maggot infested bird that had (we think) come in down our chimney, got stuck, died, rotted away quietly on a hidden patch of carpet.
Don't judge.
Removing it, pulling up the carpet and intensive cleaning did at least get rid of the mysterious odour in that room......
