Primrose Puppy Log

She's looking lovely! I don't meant to sound like a broken record, but you could be describing Bear in so many ways! the bum biting, jumping up, it's when his barking started too. I must update his teenage log as lots has happened.
Yes, I've been wondering how you're getting on!

Primrose is now 9.5 months! 68lbs! Time flies. She's still soooo much work. Nothing tires her out for long. A short training session in the yard would zonk Quinn out...not this one. She's always excited, but has been calming down quickly after her initial jumping and going nuts when we go places or people come to the house. She still has not been in anyone else's house and is limited to our main floor...she's extremely destructive the second she has the opportunity. And she is always looking for an opportunity!

We're working on barking - halloween decorations are the newest thing, but we went for a walk in the woods and she was barking her head off...at a caterpillar. Anything that moves. It's clearly fear/being unsure of things and I think that it will settle over time as she gets more confident and she moves out of this fear stage. She's already stopped barking back at dogs barking at her in passing and behind fences (with lots of work).

Pulling is ongoing, but I found a better harness and she can walk on a flat collar on "boring" walks. She's much better on solo walks than with Quinn, but I prefer to walk them together the majority of the time, unless OH is taking one somewhere.

She's got ongoing diarrhea and gas...I think I need to change her food but her contract has her on a specific food. I know one littermate was having similar issues and just changed him off...I think I might talk to her vet and see what they suggest. It could be related to her early giardia.

So far no signs of her first heat, but I've started using a long line just in case I'm missing any signs.

In anticipation of going back to the office, we've been working on alone time in the crate and building up time. She seems ok, but does cry a little if she wakes up. As long as there is no barking, we're good. She hasn't spent much time home alone, so it will be an adjustment for everyone, including Quinn. We leave them maybe 1-2 times a week to shop or run an errand (and honestly, usually someone is at home) and in comparison Quinn would have been alone for a period of time almost every day pre-pandemic.
