Rest in peace Poppy

Friends of ours have lost their 8 year old Labrador this morning , to cancer of the liver . There is a back story to Poppy which I wanted to share with you .
They were on holiday down in Cornwall with their 6 Jack Russell Terriers and came round for a visit . At the time , Sam was about 9 months old and they fell in love with him, wanting to know more about the breed . The main reason was because they have an autistic son who was then about 11 years old , and were looking into an assistance dog for him . We had many chats about Labradors and breeders too and soon along came Poppy , an adorable chocolate girl . They visited again when she was just a few months old and already very bonded to the son , she and Sam had a great time tearing around the garden .
Back in late 2020 , Poppy became poorly and underwent many tests , and now she is gone but has left a legacy of care and love , a very sad loss xx

Oh that is sad, she wasn't very old. But what a wonderful life she must have had, and she herself enhanced the lives of her family.

Poor Poppy and her owners, it sounds like she left a lot of love in her wake and made a big difference in her time xxx

These Labradors of ours are so wonderful . Poppy made a huge impact on the son of our friends , giving him much needed confidence where before her, he had very little . Her legacy is that her beloved friend is now at college and doing well too , which was almost unthinkable before she came along . I just hope that he is coping with the loss but he has wonderful parents and family around him, so I think he will be alright , bless these dogs xxx
