Reuben at the Vets this morning

He is having a dental ,hopefully just a scale and polish with no extractions, fingers crossed . Such a good lad , tail ever wagging and I was pleased that he has lost a couple of kilos , now weighing in at 36 kilos xxx

Just fetched him home , no extractions just a really good descale and a nail clipping ! He is very whiny as I expected him to be , he doesnt take kindly to being knocked out , bless him xxx

Vet has just come down to see Flicka as she has worms!! There was no way I could take her up there yet. Vet very kind and gentle.

Oh good grief , the noise he is making is horrendous , he does this every time he has a GA or sedation . He ate a good tea, no surprises there , has done a massive wee which took him ages as his legs are still a bit wobbly . He wants to sleep , keeps nodding off , blissful peace and then it starts again , I think a sleepless night is on the cards x

Oh, our poor big baby, give him a cuddle from me - I hope you both can get some sleep tonight and he’s back to his bouncy self by morning. Great news that he didn’t need any extractions. A big weight off your mind having it all over with, even if you still need to get him through his GA detox!

Still vocal , whimpering really . He has eaten his breakfast, been out for a wee and now we are all going back to bed for an hour . He tends to be like this for about 48 hours or so . It did make me smile thinking about Nelly after her epulis removal , she came in like a wrecking ball , straight onto the back of her chair to bark at seagulls Short walk later but no playgroup tomorrow as he really is like velcro and so it wouldnt be right xxx

Have you tried going out, Kate? Just you, I mean, not Paul. My reason for asking is that Solstice was similarly very vocal for about 48 hours after GA. However one time I had to return to work, leaving her with Trevor. Apparently she stopped crying as soon as I left the house, only to resume again, specially for me, it seemed, on my return home!
Joy of course, being a Veryvery Goodgirl, has never made a squeak!
I hope he feels better soon, it's such a sad and distressing sound!

I was expecting him to be like this , he has had GA several times now unfortunately and each time the same , anxious, crying softly and unsettled . I usually find that a short walk in a familiar place helps to assure and settle him so thats what I will do soon . Its strange that some are like this whilst others bounce back like nothing has happened , I just hope and pray he never has to go through this again as I feel so sorry for him xxx

Much improvement this afternoon thank goodness . We went for a very short walk , he did a which looked perfect apart from vegetation He has a sore throat from the tube I suppose, so I gave him a teaspoon of honey , the whimpering has almost stopped and his eyes look brighter , now fast asleep bless him xxx
