Reuben has a poorly leg

He is limping and holding his front left leg up , so I just rung my Vets and they have had a cancellation at 12 today , fingers crossed its nothing too bad xxx

He is such a tank , he never goes round things, just through them No walks today , he doesnt even want to go out , just happy reclining on my bed xxx

Hope Reuben feels better later today. Have you looked at his paw, sometimes they can have a Blackthorn in there which lies flush with the skin. Oh just seen your post where Reuben is seeing vet today at 12 noon. Good luck, will be thinking of you.

He is such a love , he has let me examine his foot and there is nothing visible . Apart from going out to the garden for a wee, he hasnt moved from our bed, not even when I was in the kitchen where he my assistant, poor love he is so down xx

He has a soft tissue injury so, as he is sensitive to some NSAI , he has been give Onsior . He was such a good boy and was given a brand new kong ball as a reward The down side is that he now weighs 40 kilos , which according to the Vet nurse is not too overweight given his height but he could do with losing a few kilos , so thats both of us cutting back after Christmas xxx

Thank goodness he is ok! 40 kg is a big dog, the same as Merlin!

He has definitely gained weight since I was unable to walk the miles we used to do, but I can still feel his ribs and to my eyes, he doesnt look remotely overweight xx

Doesn’t sound like he’s much overweight, if at all @kateincornwall . I’d just keep an eye on him while his exercise is reduced, he’s obviously much taller than Toffee who only weighs in at 23 kg.

Glad you were able to have him checked out and he's going to be ok with some rest.

As tall as he is, 40 kgs doesn't seem overweight, but you are the best judge.

My vet in Germany always says Carbon is too skinny except after the butterball chemo treatment when she said he finally looked perfect (he wasn't - he was fat). The last time I went to the vet in the UK, they said he should lose 2 kgs and you could see his ribs and he was super muscled from daily surfing. Just to say that there's a lot of 'eye of the beholder' when it comes to dogs' weight!

And shhhhh...but Carbon IS a little butterball-ish at the moment but I don't care a bit. It's freaking cold out there and a little padding won't hurt. Plus he's cute as a button.
