Reuben today

Reubs is a very sociable dog for which I am glad but today he was completely OTT , never have I seen him get it into such a state . We had met with Emily and Carbon on the beach , a good play was enjoyed by the three dogs after which we went back to Emily`s house for a chat and lunch , this is when it started , the constant whimpery crying , refusal to settle and generally being a right royal pain in the butt  Usually if they are here at our home , all dogs will settle after the initial chaotic greeting so maybe it was because we were away from home ? He is always such a good boy if we go to the garden centre for breakfast after the beach , so this was not normal behaviour for Reuben . I can only liken it to when little children get thoroughly wound up and cant calm down , he went straight to sleep in the car and is now shattered and sleeping by my side x

Yep, reckon it's like this!

The first few times we went to scentwork Cass was completely overwrought afterwards, much like she could be if over stimulated when an adolescent.
She's squeak and moan to herself all the way home in the car and was clearly hungry as well. It took her ages to settle down once home -- it was like she needed someone to sing her a lullaby!

Sad to say I never did!

Just a thought -- he may have been genuinely hungry. Cassie used to get like that after SW Pack walks, again muttering in the back of the car and completely unable to settle once home. I used to give her half her food and it did help.
This could be the reason ! He had run like the wind on the beach so yes, maybe he was hungry but I also think there was a modicum of the overtired child syndrome in him , all too much xx

We can give them all a little snack when we come back next time, Kate. Maybe that will help. 😊

I've already said to Kate, but he didn't bother me in the least. He's just a big happy galoof who I think was overcome with emotion at the situation. I actually love that about Reuben, especially since the Señor spends half his life looking like he's just too cool for school or he's practicing his Blue Steel.
