Well it's not quite over... Kipper was feeling a lot more chipper after 5 days of omeprazole (antacid) to settle his stomach and was nearly back to normal, but over the last 24 hours has been feeling a lot worse - no appetite, eating grass like nobody's business, a very growly stomach and clearly feeling rubbish. On our walk first thing he just didn't want to move away from grass eating, and eventually I had to carry all 35kg of him back to the car. (I'm so pleased I've been doing weight training...)

We took him to the vet this morning who thinks the virus hasn't quite cleared, and may have sparked a bacterial infection somewhere in his gut so he's had antibiotics, another antinausea injection and has a further course of oral ABs and omeprazole. Thankfully he's feeling a lot more settled, although his tummy was making incredible noises earlier. Really hoping he has a break now, poor fella is feeling quite prodded about.

Oh dear, poor Kipper, sounds like he's really been up against it lately. I hope the meds he has now been given help him get back to being himself.
It is so horrid when they are below par xx

Snowie had something similar last year. The vet called it Garbage Eating Disease, very common in labs!! She gave him Buscopan and said to give it to him when he appeared to have a sore tummy. It took ages to clear up. We actually landed up at the emergency vet at 1am one night (before we got the buscopan) because he started having rigours. Vet said a sore tummy can do that.

Hope Kipper feels better soon.
