Sadly Biggles the spaniel (belonging to a friend of ours) had to be put to sleep yesterday. He had a growth on his neck which appeared only two weeks ago and grew shockingly very rapidly. I feel so sorry for my friend - she is in her eighties and she is going to miss him desperately

It seems though that Biggles didn't have a struggle at the end, which always something to be thankful for I believe. Was he very old?

Being in the same age range as your friend, our dogs mean so much to us, so I can deeply empathise with her. Added to which, his untimely death was so very sudden and such a shock.

Was he very old?

He was a rescue dog so age unsure but he was at least 10, probably older

Yes she is going to find this very tough. Sadly she has an elderly cat who is causing her concerns too.

My friend gave Red Biggles ball on her walk. She carried it very proudly all the way home - 2 miles and is now guarding it in the garden. Have to say it’s made me a bit emotional 🥲

Yes, it is tear making but also very lovely that the ball is being cared for by Red.
