How terribly sad. One of every dog owner's worst nightmares, horrible for the driver too no doubt, just distressing all round and he looks like a lovely dog, a real character. Please tell your friend that she's in all our thoughts if you think that might help at all.

She really, really is. Unfortunately this is just another in a string of hard blows that have hit her over the last few years. It’s really tough. And to top it all off, today is her birthday. Whoopie.
