Say Hi to Sheba!

Honestly Sheba had no trouble! She settled in like she had always been there. Probably how each dog reacts depends on their temperament. I think Simba was fairly chill in some ways but was always a bit nervous in a new spot.
Labradors seem supremely good at not being bothered about who they are with as long as they are fed and loved on. I remember @Boogie telling me that years ago and not really believing her, but it does seem to be true with most. 😊

When I leave Cass (infrequently) with my lovely friend I always make sure she knows I'm going and I see her in the rearview mirror watching the car and then she turns round and happily trots of with J.
I once left her for a trial morning at a (expensive) home from home facility where she didn't know I'd gone - the woman said Cass had been looking for me, I didn't like that. After all, I've spent all her life emphasising "focus on me and know where I am".

When we went to see our new grandson, we left Fred and Annie with our son and his wife at our house. Fred was ok, but Annie wouldn't come out of her crate (the door is always open, she just likes to sleep there). Our DiL even tried sausages, but she only came out when she needed the toilet and then went back in her crate. I don't think I will leave her again.

I put my 2 GSPs in very good kennels and one would not come out of the kennel and when we finally arrived home you could see her breath a sigh of relief "thank heaven I am home" so I never left her again. It is a shame my daughter's dog has Brucellosis Canis otherwise she could have gone there for an afternoon or so just to get used to be away from me.
