Shocking

Ugh, disgusting. It reminds me of something I saw a couple years back (and I think I posted on TLF at the time). We were at a dog park with a young exuberant Quinn and a young chocolate lab was off leash having a grand old time and not recalling to dog walker, who had several other dogs back on leash already. She roughly caught him and hit him on the side of the snout with the metal clip at the end of the leash. I was horrified and felt sick...just froze. No wonder he wouldn't go back to her!! I wish there was a way to know what company that walker was with and/or alert owner. I will never get that memory out of my head, and have trouble trusting Quinn to anyone as a result.

anyone would want to do that - to then have that kind of job and do that
Agree, never understood why people get jobs they dont want to enjoy.

I would end up being a total dick to the person if that was my dog and make their life hell (but within the law).

That's just unbearable really isn't it? The thought of anyone doing anything like that to my little Joy (or any other dog for that matter) just makes me feel physically sick.

I was down at the dog park on Sunday morning when a lady arrived with 7 dogs (shared between her and a friend). I assumed dog walker, but not on a Sunday? Anyway, I asked and yes, she's a dog walker but the 7 were all her own dogs. I asked for her details because I liked the way she was handling her dogs but she works in a different area. What she did say was "if a dog walker refuses to let you come along on the first walk - avoid them, because I guarantee that they're hitting your dog". YIKES. I can only assume that she sees and hears things within the dog walker community. She also said to avoid anybody using "pack, alpha etc" which is preaching to the choir, but it's always nice to have that reinforced.

Yes me too with mine. When I said good night to them, I gave them an extra cuddle - they are such beautiful creatures and I just really don’t understand anyone’s mindset that should make them be cruel to animals.

It doesn't surprise me at all. I asked a dog walker round for a chat, I asked her "what would you do if Charlie pulled on his lead?" she replied "I would smack him on the nose" my reply was "get out of my house." Not as bad as this example but an example all the same. Makes my blood boil  x
