Small Black Dog Down

Hopefully it’s not a reaction to the metacam.
That crossed my mind too. She's off Metacam for the next few days and we are away anyway (Lady is in kennels until Tuesday). I'll just double check it's ok to start her up on it again when we get back. Her stomach felt back to normal this morning but I think she's still a bit sore. Also she hasn't done a poop for 24 hours but I guess that's understandable. Vet called last night to see how she was getting on and also to let me know that the blood test came up boringly normal.

On the subject of ill dogs I asked the kennels this morning if they had any policy about taking old dogs (we're away on business for 3 nights once a month throughout the year). Apparently they are reluctant to take senile dogs so I said it was as well to know as we needed to start planning ahead for Lady getting old. Phew! Oh that doesn't apply to Lady they said. It's like a home from home for her. I gather they have had very old dogs lodged there that had no real experience of kennels and got very distressed as they were completely lost and didn't know what was going on so they tend not to take them now.

Yes I mentioned it at the kennels so they will keep an eye on things. Her appetite is good, she's drinking normally, showing no signs of bloat now and is alert and taking interest so I think a blockage is unlikely but of course still possible.
