Thanks for all your 'Happy Birthdays"! Oh Beanwood! You made me a cake! It looks delicious. Celebrations so far:
Smoked salmon and poached egg for breakfast, accompanied by opening of cards.
Walk around Hollingworth Lake with Joy, Tess and Tess's Dad.
Fish and chips by lake, shared with dogs. First time Joy's had fish and chips, she was most impressed.
Celebrations still to come:
Meal at a very good Thai restaurant with Trevor's two lovely daughters, to be accompanied by opening of presents and no doubt drinking of wine. Really looking forward to this. Back home for big cuddles with little Joy.
Meal out in Nottingham with my brother and his wife tomorrow evening.
Fly to Turkey on Thursday to continue the good times over there.
Somewhat bittersweet as Zena has said, but all in all a pretty good effort I reckon! More:happy::sun: than:'(:rain: so:cheers:

She was born on the winter solstice and was long and dark. No other name possible really! How is your OH Jelinga? Really hope things are going as well as possible for you both.
A perfect name for her :) Other half sleeping a lot and I suppose is as well as possible. I don't know what I would do without having a happy dog in the house.

Really feel for you, Jelinga. So glad you've got that happy dog. They're a big comfort and incentive to keep going aren't they? Thanks to everyone for your support over my wobble about leaving Joy.You were right, all of you. I get regular updates and photos and she appears to be absolutely fine. I treated myself to the new Dior perfume named after her at the airport ( it doesn't smell of damp Labrador!) I'm really enjoying being back in Turkey and exploring a region in this fascinating country that is new to me. Only been here just over 24 hours and can feel it doing me good already!
