Special visit this Saturday

We are driving up to Devon to see Reuben again on Saturday , at the breeders invitation , and also at her invitation we are taking Silas . He knows that we are going to have the puppy but he doesn't yet know about the visit to actually see him and hold him .
As most of you know , Silas had a very special bond with Sam , who helped him to heal from a traumatic time in his young life , Sam was there, his constant and his friend since the little lad was three years old . Losing Sam was dreadful for all of us , the loss of a young dog is so damned awful , but for Silas , it has been devastating and affected him dreadfully . He loves playful Nelly , but even she couldn't stop the tears at times , he was simply missed so much . Reuben isn't Sam , he isn't expected to be either , but Silas seems so happy that he is coming to join us , its completing the dog family again . I think it might well be emotional for him on Saturday , he is such a sensitive boy , but I also think that it is a good thing , he can then know that's its all real xx

Lovely, how exciting! Also what a good way for Silas to learn that it's possible to love again without losing any of the love you still feel for the one that you've lost. It will probably be emotional, as you say, but there's nothing wrong with that. I'll be thinking of you all on Saturday.xxx:hug:

Oh, I do hope little Reuben isn’t too much of a horror crocopup! Of course, you will manage it perfectly if he is, and it’s just part of puppyhood, but it would be lovely if they could be buddies from the start without Silas being ravaged by the needles!

I'm sure you will have already told Silas that puppies are bitey and pee and poo on floors etc. so he will be well prepared and will just enjoy the pup. I had to do the same thing with my grandson. He just giggled (pee and poo he he) and then fell in love with the pup. I'm so glad this happening for you. You deserve this wonderful little puppy.
