Stanley

I think he’s looking a bit skinny. Does he look like his food needs upping a bit? It’s really hard to get a decent pic of him.

(Stanley’s thinking please say yes please say yes).5DA5AC01-0A64-4EA6-9044-07A320E4E0F4.jpeg8879EFD5-4832-4250-A369-3938D3EA6CE2.jpeg

He's looking lean, I think a couple of extra treats would be fine, but I don't think he's underweight. Bear looks the same at the moment, though he's got a slightly thicker coat.

When I’m out of isolation I might pop to the vets to have him weighed. 25kg is his fighting weight and I feel like he looks really scrawny at the minute. He’s laid down at the minute and I can see his hip bones sticking out really clearly, I’m sure he’s never been like that before.

Depends on the dog I think. Ella has a big ribcage and I think she'd probably be a bit skinny if her waist dipped is as much as Stanley's looks. She also sits around 25kg as a good weight

I don't think he's too skinny, but at the same time when Carbon looks like that, I up his treats or meals a bit for a few days. I just feel bad for him when he shows his ribs as it usually happens if he's been doing a lot of exercise and I've kept his food the same.

So there, Stanley - there's one vote for ya to chow down. :giggl:

I think you know your dog best. If you’re worried, best to take him to your vet. Has he suddenly started to look skinny? Do you have a home scale? Weigh yourself first. Then pick him up and get back on the scale. He might have worms. Don’t want to scare you! But Snowie suddenly started to look thin (many years ago) so I upped his food. Turned out he had tapeworm!
