Stilton’s limping

[HAH]

Poor baby has hurt his back right leg, he’s been uncharacteristically quiet and sleepy all day, didn’t want any lunch, so we initially thought he was feeling sick. But he went into the garden earlier this evening, and I noticed he was limping slightly on his rear right and not really weight bearing. I gave it a slight stroke and he was clearly uncomfortable, so I’ve given him a couple of Pardale and we’ll take him to the vet tomorrow if there’s no major improvement overnight. He looks so sad , we’ve been lucky that this is probably his first real experience of sustained discomfort.

Poor little squeaker just tried to get up and is holding it up completely now, definitely vets first thing (12:45 am here). I hope it’s nothing major but he needs pain killers and NSAIDs.

Hope he's ok but it does sound bad. Id there an emergency vet at your practice? Perhaps you could phone them? Have you checked his paw and pads?

Yes, I’ve done a full MOT and it’s looking like cruciate but we’ll suspend judgement until we see a pro this morning (our local practice is open Saturday mornings). Poor little sausage is struggling

So sorry to read about Stilton, you should be seeing the vet as I write this. I do hope it is something that can easily be resolved, such a worry and concern for you.

We’ve just seen the vet who suspects cruciate too, so she’s given him an injection and we’ve got loxicom until Monday when they’ll see him again and decide whether to xray. Suspicion is it’s not a complete rupture which is better then it might have been, glad he’s got some drugs now so just waiting for them to kick in. It’s also my birthday today!
