We’ve taken the king size mattress off the spare bed and put it on the living room floor where she has eventually led down and gone to sleep 
. I’m going to sleep out here with her tonight (and maybe the next few too). We are in a bungalow, but my bed (where she usually sleeps) is really high and she won’t be able to on and off without hurting herself.

Poor, poor sweet girl. I so much hope she's OK. I always sleep on the floor cuddling my dogs too, after any sort of trauma. Here's to a better day tomorrow.

Today has been a challenge. This girl is so stoic and has nearly given me heart attacks. She has been on and off the sofa all day even though Ive sat on the floor trying to get her to stay there with me! The minute I turn my back she’s up. When I went to the bathroom this morning, I came back to the front room and she was gone…..she had jumped up onto my bed which is really high and was snoozing happily! This afternoon I took her into the garden for a wee and a cat ran across the back of the garden………off she went, full on running straight into the bushes…….my heart was going - I was worried she would hurt herself, pull the stitches out or something…..no, she was complete fine! It is as though yesterday didn’t happen. She’s able to sit and lie down with no problem now which is good.
The only concern I have is the one on her chest…..there is a build up of fluid just below the wound and when she goes to shake, she stops very sudden as though it hurts her. I’m going to call the vets in the morning just to let them know as the fluid does seem to be bigger tonight.
Here are the wounds;
This is her should which is very neat, tidy and definitely looks the best.
This one is her chest which looks sore and has the fluid at the bottom of the picture.
This one is her tummy which looks ok but sore.

Good to hear that Harley is feeling well enough to chase a cat! When Molly had a lump removed last spring I just let her get on the sofa and bed, though the bed is just normal divan height. We started 20 minute walks the day after the op but I did keep her on lead even in the garden as the vet had emphasised that exercise should be at a slow pace and that I should keep the wound dry. Hope Harley continues to recover well.

The fluid thing might be a seroma, which GGJ had last year after her attack by another dog. As far as I understand it is a body's reaction to trauma, harmless and eventually dissipates of it's own accord. Hope it's as straightforward with Harley. to you and your lovely girl. xxx

Sounds like she's doing really well. It reminds me of how Ginny ran up the stairs the day after her amputation. We were then stuck up there for the rest of the day until J came home because I didn't want to carry her down in case I fell. They like to worry us, these animals!!

Thanks all. It’s reassuring to hear that the fluid and redness is normal.
She is definitely getting back to herself. My OH got up with her this morning and as soon as they went outside she ran in the bushes! It is raining heavy here and does seem to bother her! She also pushed passed him to say hi to the delivery guy who dropped off a parcel! They really do scare us.

Sam had a seroma after his cancer surgery , Vet said not to drain as it would only fill up again , if left the swelling will disappear and fluid will be absorbed into the body . Bless her , she has been such a brave girlie xxx
