SUV/4wheel drive

We have a TransK9, for the two girls. Don't use the divider as it gives them more room.
I also looked at Variocage, by MIMsafe. But did not like the look of it.
We may be a bit different though as cost played a big factor. Nothing here of any quality related to dog crates for cars exist only one I found was about $3000 that was Variocage
@Xena Dog Princess from memory they did not want to get involved in the export part, so I had to do that my self. Because of that no VAT (GST) refunded. But they gave me free products equivalent to the GST instead. I had a quote for shipping and all up paid about $2000ish.
Having it now would not go without, as especially when we are 4wd driving. Girls are settled and they feel secure as can't be moved or bounced around.
And one extra benefit it is amazing how clean the rest of the car is.

That's what's worrying me Sven, because having to pay an extra 15% duty when it hits NZ is going to make a very expensive thing even more expensive. And I can't see OH agreeing to 2k+ for transport for a dog that doesn't spend much time in the car in the first place.

I know it stings when I looked at the costs. But I broke it down over the expected lifetime of the car and it became more palatable. Plus the girls are in the car a fair bit, as most weekends we go out for days or weekends away.
Other options if feasible is to get a cargo divider put in. That at least offers some support/protection?

I'm thinking about a travel harness now like the Sleepypod - Emily had one for Ella but that it wasn't perfect because Ella couldn't lie down in it? I've had a very quick look at their website and there are images of dogs lying down in it so maybe it's worth investigating further.
