Swollen muzzle

Poor Kipper has been bitten by something - I suspect an insect or spider - and his whole nose has swollen up quite substantially. I took him to the vet this morning to check it wasn’t anything else like a tooth or abscess, but we’re pretty sure it’s a bite reaction. So we’re on Piriton antihistamine tablets and should hopefully see improvements in 48 hours. It’s obviously uncomfortable for him but he’s happy in himself, and his appetite is good (phew!). Oh poor boy!! But very good that he’s still got his Labrador appetite. Kipper is as handsome as ever, swollen muzzle and all :inlove: hopefully the swelling goes down in no time!

Poor boy! I guess he stuck his nose somewhere to sniff something and disturbed an insect or a spider. My dad used to say that when he was a child they’d say, “It’s unlucky to smell flowers”, which I found very odd. Until he said it was because you usually got stung!

I hope the swelling goes down quickly. Snowie was bitten/stung twice in his life. His entire face swelled up, including his ears. Luckily Kipper hasn’t reacted too badly. But still, I’m sure it feels uncomfortable.

Poor Kipper! I always think this late summer/early autumn time of year is the time when stings and bites are most likely to happen, lots of sleepy insects around. I hope the swelling goes down soon and he's not too uncomfortable.
Pee Ess, Joy would just like to reassure Kipper that he's still Veryvery Hansum.
