Taking those impromptu training sessions when they come

Shamas is bored stupid, with this self-isolation and lack of leash-work. I can't be where the air is cold, or I go into voilent coughing fits and it's snowing right now. So when I saw his nemesis poke her black and white nose under my son's door, I grabbed the treat bag and went for it!

Of course, I had to grab his collar the first time he saw her; she hisses at him every time she sees him, and he's accustomed to responding to a challenge. But once he realised that she was calm, and there were treats involved, he quickly figured out the rules: lay down, be quiet and look at mom. Treats go on the floor, so as to break eye contact and restart the cycle.

4 feet away, Helen was taking treats under the door, and the only growl (of protest) came from Shamas when she put her foot under the door to reach a treat that I didn't push far enough into the room.

This is one of the best interactions the two of them have had since I got him! Helen is the cat that threatened him dire consequences for coming into the house, and I have to keep her supervised or a closed-door between them. She might be only about 7lbs, but she's a bully cat if I ever knew one. Used to beat on Midnight too, before I split the two of them into different rooms and marked Helen her own territory in my son's room. Only Matt doesn't tolerate her tyrannical behavior- he just knocks her over and bathes her lol!
