Tatze started drooling, head shaking, pacing and crying about an hour ago. I rang the vet and they fitted me in straight away. He can’t find anything wrong, he had a very good look in her mouth - nothing there.

He gave me re-hydration salts and said if she’s still doing it in two hours to phone him again.

I‘m worried she’s eaten something, ‘tho I didn’t notice her eating anything on our morning walk. He asked about sticks but she never picks up or chews sticks. She’s just had a poo which was normal. She doesn’t usually poo at this time but a thermometer up the bum probably brought that on.

She’s stopped crying now but she’s still drooling puddles.

I’m worried.

Oh dear. I hope you can find out what's wrong - or better still that she just starts to feel ok again. I can see why you're worried. Could she have licked a toad like the Pig did?
Goodness - I’d forgotten about that! Are toads out and about at this time of year?

Hopefully that’s the answer - she’s had a good mouth swill now and is lying down - the towel she’s on is getting very soggy!

Sorry to hear. Sounds like she’s nauseas. Hope she feels better soon. I sympathize with her cos I’ve felt nauseas the whole day, eaten only a few grapes. But I know the reason: huge, very strong g&t last night. Wonderful evening. Massive hangover today.

Feel better soon, Tatze. And how sweet is Echo!!

I’ve just googled it and you are right @Selina27.

“Most amphibians lie dormant over the winter, though they may take advantage of milder patches of weather to come out and forage. Frogs and toads normally overwinter in places like compost heaps, amongst dead wood or under decking/your shed/other objects.”

We usually walk by the river or the reservoir when Mr Boogs is away but today we went to the woods - and we were in thick leaves at one point. Tatze was having a good snuffle.

Hmmm - my own lips are now tingling rather uncomfortably. I wonder if I wiped up Tatze’s drool and forgot to wash my hands?

Goodness - no wonder she was crying, poor love, it really isn’t nice!

I have been racking my brains in case there is something in the house, remembering Echo’s strange reaction the other day. But I don’t think so. I don’t use any plug-ins or scented candles or any strange cleaning fluids.
