Tatze’s mouth

Thank you all for your reassurance - especially from @Jelinga, I didn’t know you’d been a veterinary nurse, my dream job!

If she needs them cleaning would she need a GA or could they do that under sedation?

I can't remember! I would have thought if she needed extraction then a G/A. In our day @Beanwood we didn't have crash trolleys! Would have been very aware of any problem either sedation or G/A and at the ready for an emergency.

We went to the vet this morning. It was a different vet and she let him look very thoroughly in her mouth! Her teeth are all very white and healthy, my daily brushing is really working. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that she’s cracked another big tooth - the opposite to two years ago - so she’s having it out this morning. I don’t know how she did it this time as she’s had no bones at all since the first one. It’s a huge big tooth with three big roots and healthy apart from a crack right down to the root.

Oh poor Tatze, so sorry this has happened again. Heaven only knows how our dogs do these things despite our best efforts. I hope the surgery goes well and Tatze will be home with you soon. xxx and for Tatze xxx

The vet said powerful chewers can even do it on rawhide chews, so no more of them for Tatze either now
