Only two nights left to go with little Maja - we may all survive after all!
A couple days ago, I thought they were doing better , Carbón even daring to be on the bed at the same time as Maja. I was taking a video to send to Maja’s ML, when Maja went for Carbón (he had a toy that she wanted) and he shouted back and whacked her with his paw. It was all fairly mild, but little miss was VERY put out and has been on the rampage since. This girl can hold a grudge!
So I don’t think we’ll be achieving peace and tranquility before she leaves, but we do have a rhythm and Maja also knows to go to her carrier for a 5 minute circuit breaker time out. I joked to her ML that it’s the only thing she knows in English: “You’re being a little monster, go to your box!”
She’s also learned to ride in her sling carrier happily, which seems to calm her down vs actually walking which amps her up. Of course she still walks 80% of the walk, but when she’s in the carrier we can all relax a bit and enjoy it more.
Last night it was chilly, so Carbón laid on top of me on the sofa, and I covered both of us with a blanket. In comes Maja and jumps up on the big ‘pillow’ on my lap and settles right in. When it was time to get up, I uncovered his head and asked him if he wanted to go for his evening walk, which resulted in a tail wag.
Maja was so shocked to see she’d been sleeping on her ‘enemy’ that she jumped up and bit him on his tail!
At this point, Carbón doesn’t react much and just got off the sofa, but I was just kind of baffled: How could she not know she was lying on top of Carbón?
It’s sure going to seem peaceful after she goes back home.
Here’s Maja curiously watching her new pillow breathe.
