Does that tail never stop wagging?!
Heh,heh...no? Sometimes even when he's having a good sleep, it's still wagging!

if there's one thing to warm my heart it's the sight of a Labrador holding something in it's mouth and waggig the body .
Oscar the Flea wasn't supposed to be part of the Off/On Game but Carbon was so crestfallen when I put Oscar up that I thought "What the heck" and decided to let him be part of yesterday's training filming. It ended up working out great, so I'll figure out other ways to get Oscar in on the action.

And of course I love that house :)
Me too. We're so lucky to have the garden right now!

It's SD Training Wednesday!

I made a ton of mistakes here, including and most grievously continuing training when I got frustrated. Our trainer has already pointed out the error of my ways (in a very R+ fashion). For the following week, we're going to take a break from Settle - which is driving Carbon and me both batty - and go back to some fun games from our Foundations class like backing, paw target, and pivots.

So with that caveat, here's this week's video:

It was bad news!

If it helps any, my trainer said that I shouldn't be having staring contests at all with him. I should just look away and not engage. If he continues to stare at me for five seconds, he's stumped as to what I want, so I should reset him with a lower set of criteria.
Joy's favourite time for the stare is when I'm having my morning cup of tea, just prior to our walk. It is accompanied by little throat clearing type grunt noises that gradually escalate into whining. If I ignore this for long enough the noises stop, apart from a final heavy sigh as she flops down into a kind of exaggerated Settle. My problem with this is keeping a straight face!

I think Carbon's trying to tell you that he should be on the sofa and you should be on the blue mat!
I think YOU'RE RIGHT!

Actually that was one of the issues my trainer and I pinpointed yesterday. Carbon is, in fact, used to sitting on that sofa with me and coming and going as he wants. So 'on the mat' in front of the sofa was weird for him, as was the idea that he shouldn't just walk away whenever he wanted. So all that just added to the confusion and why he's staring at me like, "What the heck, ML??!"
