Nearly there? :sun:
Si, si! Today we drive through Slovenia and we are now in…

…Croatia! Today we visited Rovinj, which looks just like Venice because it was built during the time when Istria was part of the Venetian republic.

It was very odd to feel like we were in Italy while being very much NOT in Italy. Plus nearly all the tourists were German or Austrian, so that is pretty much all we heard. Que raro, how strange!

But it was very pretty and like discovering a secret part of Venice we had never seen. And so many dogs! This made us both happy!

Our new little house with a pool is a leeetle ‘raro’ too. Pool too cold even for ML and so many bugs. ML spent the afternoon murdering bugs and cleaning, but now it is looking better and I am already cosy in bed. Tomorrow we go to Motovun, a fortified hill town from medieval times. Maybe I shall find a dragon to ride! Weeeeee!

Interesting town, the waterside is reminiscent of Venice. Carbon looks very fit and in excellent condition. I would love to know what he thinks about his travels. 😃
He’s quite happy. 🥰 We were both not having the best time in Germany, for different reasons. Yesterday Carbón was so happy to pose for cookies and interact with people and other dogs. Today while I’ve been planning our next two weeks of travels, he’s been outside soaking up the sun by the pool. He’d been looking a little old and care-worn, and today he just looks happy and shiny and bouncy. Does my heart good to see it. ❤

Carbon is thinking he is the luckiest of dogs, constant company of his beloved Mama, sunshine, interesting journeys, and glad to get on the road again :sun:

I said his name yesterday , Reuben immediately jumped up onto the chair to look out of the window , so sweet . I`m glad the boy is good and enjoying his chilling by the pool xx
Oh goodness, that chokes me up a bit! Sweet boy Reuben looking for his best amigo. ❤ We’ve got to be in Germany for the first couple weeks in January (grrr) but I’ll make sure Carbón rolls into Cornbeefall as fast as possible after!

Hola amigos! Today we changed our plans un poco: instead of going inland, ML and I wanted to smell the sea again, so we went to the nearby seaside town of Poreč.

Like Rovinj, Poreč also has a lot of Venetian influence. It was still very touristy - and everyone keeps speaking German to us which is a leeeetle irritating as ML and I have been learning Croatian for months now - but it was less crowded than Rovinj and had a very nice promenade on one side of town. Que bien: we liked it!

Then we came ‘home’ and ML stood up to her knees in the ice water pool and then said, “Mmmm, maybe on Sunday.” Pfft! I knew she was not as brave as Amiga Jac!

Tomorrow we will go inland to see leeetle villages - maybe. Or maybe not. We are getting into proper holiday mode now and we are just doing what we feel like. Ojala!

Here I am with a Venetian campanile - or at least it looks like one to me.

A lovely arch? Needs more Señor.

Quiet leeetle streets where I can do excellent modelling - que bien!

Pretty buildings in the sunshine - I do not mind ML’s tourist shots so much anymore as I still earn a cookie for each one. I have trained her well!

And finally we got to admire the water along this promenade. We miss the sea when we are in Germany, so this was beautiful to see.
