There’s always something

I’ve come down this morning and Stanley has what looks like comjunctivitis.

I give up with this dog! He’s determined to bankrupt me!!!

Our vets have an emergency clinic between 10 and 11 on Sundays so I’m just waiting for them to open and we’ll go. He’s rubbing it and I don’t watch him to scratch it or anything.

Poor lad :(

Poor Stanley. We often get a problem at this time of year with all the grass seed - especially as Ripple insists in rolling around in long grass  - I usually check his eyes when we come back indoors.

He may be fine with eye drops, Coco had conjunctivitis last year - he was good as gold, especially when he discovered he got a fish cube after each go (same with his ear drops a couple of weeks ago....and his teeth brushing - the dried fish cube is a magical thing, @Boogie's recommendation)

I feel your pain @Jen. Red has had conjunctivitis twice since we got her (both dogs had it the first time so double the expense :(). Last time she was coming to us and sitting waiting for her eye drops - almost like ‘I know I have to have them, so get on with it’. Hope Stanley gets better quickly.

Rory didn't like it but he needed treatment so had to learn. I would wait until breakfast or tea and load up his food bowl and let him see it then place it just out of reach in the kitchen unit. He would just stare at the bowl. I would get him to sit while I put the drops in. He be so excited about his food he stayed still and let me do it. So as soon as let me do it He got his food really quickly He doesn't like it but as soon as he see me get them out at meal times he sits and let's me do it. He know he gets his food if he lets me.it was easy to train he doesn't get upset and he agree to the contact. It's amazing the difference in the stress of putting eye drops in when you get the dog to name his price.

Oh no, you have had rotten luck recently with Stanley’s health. At least this should be straightforward to clear up, I hope.

The worst part is he was supposed to be going to the dog park today with his bezzies and now he can’t go :(

There so much pollen dust and stuff around at the moment a lot of dogs have itchy eyes. Also checking for injury is always a good idea. Rory stung his eye on stinging nettles the other day. I'm also just wiping Rory's eyes after a walk to get rid of dust and pollen.

Oh poor Stanley that looks painful :( So much pollen this year. Hattie has had runny eyes after a walk so I wipe them with boiled cooled water but nothing more serious than that. It's bad this year. Get better soon Stanley. Not sure if it's contagious to other dogs though Jen just as it is human to human. Anyone know? xx

Poor Stanners.
Plum had multiple eye issues as a pup and it was always so difficult getting drops in, it was a bit more successful when she was dopey with sleep just before we went to bed.
If you've taught 'middle' which I think you were doing a while back, that could be the way to go? Also, you have OH to hold him.

I'm sure he can go playing with his chums, when Plum had conjunctivitis the vet said it was ok to mix with other dogs.
