There’s always something

Poor stanners. When we were at the vet a month ago, on an unrelated issue, the vet said Monty had mild seasonal conjunctivitis, almost certainly caused by grass pollen. His don't look too bad, and she didn't prescribe drops.l have looked up the doggy dose for cetirizine though and might start dosing him up. Seems to be a common thing with our dogs!

Eye drops are really tough....

One thing I’ve had some luck with is closing the eye, then putting a line of drops along the line where the eyelids join, then opening the eyelids. The drops (or some of them) fall into the eye. It’s less traumatic than trying to do it with an open eye. And naturally one follows it up immediately with a generous serve of favourite treats.

Ohhh I hate giving eye drops. Gizmo was much easier than Odie, surprisingly. Axel has never needed them, yet. Good luck! Poor Stanley, can’t seem to catch a break.

Poor Stanley. Will he let you wipe his eye with a tissue? I was thinking you could put the eye-solution on a tissue and wipe it across his eye.

Poor you (and poor Stanley)! :( He looks so much like Tuppence and seems to behave very similarly too. I dread to think how on earth I would begin to treat eyes or ears with her! That photo of Stanley looking from behind the chair looks so familiar! Does he then run off in the opposite direction? How difficult can it be to corner a lab...?!

I think it’s my karma for him being so good with eyedrops.

He really doesn’t like me right now but I’m managing to get them in on a night when he’s sleepy. I just hope it doesn’t come back in the other eye! :(
