I cut my nail after my shower yesterday. Aaaaah, this made me happy!!
Hah, sure!! It’s barely looking grim at all now! You can’t see but a lot of the skin has peeled off, especially on the pad of my finger. All in all it’s looking very healthy! And, look! I have almost normal knuckle wrinkles on my main joint, too! I can bend that to 90 degrees now, which is aces. Can we have more pictures?

Shame it wasn’t the guilty partyI can appreciate the artistry of all your gory wore wound photos including a perfectly placed Labrador in the background.![]()

I put off looking at the very first photo for two days expecting it to be horrific.... then I was pleasantly surprised when I eventually opened it!Oi, there was no warning for us squeamish lot![]()
Perfect if you decide to break into cat-burgling!I wonder if your finger print will change![]()

Why would she want to burgle a cat?Perfect if you decide to break into cat-burgling!![]()

The bit of the nail still attached at the bed is starting to blacken so I think I’ll lose that. The bit that’s no longer connected at the base is looking healthier! I have no idea what will happen, whether that will grow out?I bet you are going to keep that nail now
Hmm, well it's the base that's important....The bit of the nail still attached at the bed is starting to blacken so I think I’ll lose that. The bit that’s no longer connected at the base is looking healthier! I have no idea what will happen, whether that will grow out?![]()
Exactly that happened to a toenail of mine that got semi torn off back in the mists of time. To this day 'nail things' are the only things that make me squeamish. My nail grew back eventually but is still discoloured (nail varnish during sandal weather) and slightly raised and thickened but doesn't cause any problems. Hope yours is OK Fiona.Hmm, well it's the base that's important....
If the nail plate is damaged the nail won't grow properly.
The black bit might just be bruising?
Watch out for the distal nail, it will probably detach on one side and flap around for a while.
I think it looks excellent.
