Toffee’s Gundog Training

I’m just pleased that we’re still able to go, I know quite a few gundog trainers wouldn’t be interested in working with Toffee as he would never achieve their standards.
He loves his time there and does his best to understand what we should be doing, just sometimes it turns into chaos.

While I’m in the mood for resurrecting old threads I thought I would update this as well.

Toffee's gundog training has continued in much the same way, generally a chaotic outing that I come home from thinking perhaps we should just give up on it. Then I always decide to book 'just one more' and we’re still going.
We've had a few ups and downs with Toffee getting stressed and eating so many twigs that he’s made his tummy bad overnight. But we’ve had some really good lessons where I felt we’ve achieved something.
Last Sunday we went water training, Toffee's absolute favourite. There were only 4 of us so he got plenty of time in the water, although some of that was when no dummy had been thrown and he just fancied a swim  .
He did get better as the session went on, he does know what to do but excitement gets the better of him.

At the end of the two hours Katey (the trainer) gave her feedback to the group. For Toffee she said “Well we all know Toffee has enjoyed himself today”. :cwl:. I think I’m happy with that .

If he loves the time there and you love it, then there is every reason for you to continue. I wouldn't worry about the chaos :D
