Training plans

I've always struggled with the best way to log my training plans, but I've just started putting together some Trello boards for things I'm working on with each dog. I think it's going to really help me to stay organised and accountable, and to make cleaner plans going forward.

Here's a quick pic of how Luna's is looking at the moment. I have a lot more behaviours to add, and a lot more detail to each behaviour, but I'm quite excited by it.

It's free software, you can create your own on Trello, and there's a free app so you can take it with you on the road, too.

Oh blimey, should we all be doing this?

I've made a list of what I've taught Maisy (with pen and paper) so I don't forget anything, and I thought I was organised!

That IS organised @Shaz82 !

The main reason I need to do it because I easily lose track of where we are with different behaviours, and get a bit 'child in a toy shop' with new things - classic case at the moment, I'm working on back foot targeting because I was given some balance pods for my birthday and I really want to work towards using them; but in our pre-agility classes we're also working on front foot targeting, which I'd sort of forgotten (didn't go for a couple of weeks and it slipped my mind).

Also things like the excellent Heelwork Challenge! that @Beanwood suggested remind me that we have some fairly solid basic steps and could do with progressing them a bit more systematically.

Finally, I like the idea of seeing how well we're doing by looking back at previous logs (a lot like looking at past Forum posts!), because it's easy to forget we're making progress just looking at it day by day, and there may be other useful patterns to spot. I say all of this, check in 2 months if I'm keeping up the plans :D
