Phew! Finally settled in at the New Inn, Clapham. Not such an easy journey as last time we travelled here by train! We got off at Skipton and it looked as if there was going to be an hour to wait for the Clapham train, which was OK as there's a big park near the station and a cafe, so I was thinking 'Walk, then lunch, then back on the train. ' However it transpired that there'd been a derailment at Carlisle which was causing delays, so it was going to be a three hour wait!

I sent Nadine a message and she and her husband kindly took pity on us and came to collect us, so Joy and I had a good walk and a ball game in Airdale Park, then we were collected and taken for a late lunch in Kirby Lonsdale. We had planned a look around the shops but as we were leaving the first one the heavens opened and it absolutely poured down, so we got back in the car and headed straight for Clapham. It was by then past Joy's teatime as she kept reminding me, so we picked up her bed from Nadine's and came straight here, where we are now drying out and snoozing before meeting Nadine and Damien in the bar at 7.30 ish for our evening meal.
It's nice to be back here and Joy settled in straight away, ( well, as soon as she'd had her tea!) The rain is still battering against the windows, our wet things are drying on the radiator and we're very cosy.
A few photos...Oops, sorry, no photos just now, problem with Internet connection I suspect!
