If you find yourself struggling with your broken wrist, spare a thought and a smile for the young lady I met a couple of years ago in Andorra who had broken BOTH wrists while on a snowboarding holiday with her new boyfriend. Their relationship was shifted into the rather more personal, as he had to do everything - everything - for her!

Oh God. Yes. My MALE flatmate did this at Uni playing football.
I was forever grateful he went home to rehab.
He grew up to be a plastic surgeon so no long term after effects.

I go in today to find out when I have the op. I'd like to get it over with asap but nobody's said anything about nil by mouth so I doubt it will be today. I'm packing a bag for an overnight stay though, living in hope, and will stuff some Kong's for the freezer. The sooner it's done, the sooner it can start healing and I have plans for the summer!

Still at the hospital waiting for bloods, ECG, etc. Back tomorrow at 7.30 for surgery some time with luck, home same day if all goes smoothly, which is good news.
