Trip to the emergency vet for Hunter

I did the Tuna water/sardine water trick. Nothing but he did just drink water and go back to bed. The vet is not so worried about less drinking as he had the drip yesterday. So I am staying at home with him and the vet is open until 730 tonight so I can drop in at the end of the afternoon if things get worse. No waggy tail. Now I am on pee watch! Worse case he can go back on the drip again tomorrow. I have never seen him this ill. He is steady and not going downhill so that is a positive for today.

Oh dear, poor boy Is the digestive food from the vet canned wet food? That will also help hydrate him and he won’t be drinking as much because of that. I did continue to add water to Axel’s wet food but was told it wasn’t necessary as there was enough moisture in the canned food. Maybe something to ask the vet about

@Kelsey&Axel it is wet food from the vet but I also added water. No real improvement but his wee has no blood. He has slept alot which is ecpected

Aw well least you know he is being hydrated from the canned food alone, and what you add is bonus extra. Hopefully he continues to drink some on his own too. No fun when you’re feeling so unwell. Oh yes, just like us hoomans, he will be sleeping lots while his body heals him

How is Hunter? So sorry to read how ill he’s been. When I’ve needed Snowie to drink more water, I shred roasted chicken into a bowl of water. Every last drop is lapped up.

It seems that the lambies and kind words are working. No wiggle bum greeting this morning but he got out of bed to say hello. He has had something to eat(left food in the bowl...hmm) had a very runny pooh and 2 wees in the night. He also drank his water after eating his food.
So we seem to have turned a corner for the better. Off to the vets later to get the drip tube taken out. Thank you so much again for the MLF care centre. I have also had a terrible cold, cough, aches and chills during this (not COVID) so I may have been quite tearful the last few days.
