Tummy problems

Jazz was violently sick on her walk yesterday, and spent the rest of the day retching. We did the usual rice/chicken/boiled egg regime, but she want interested. The real worry was that she wasnt drinking which could be serious in a heat wave. Normally we wouldnt bother the vet with tummy problems, but we didnt want to risk dehydration. She was slightly dehydrated but not seriously. We got some kaolin supplement to ease her stomach and stopped up with her all night to periodically tempt her with water and nibbles. She eventually had a small sip of water at 2 a.m. much to our relief, and had a small bit of chicken at 10 a.m. today.
They do put us through it sometimes.

Glad she drank some water. They do make you worry!

I find chicken broth is a sure way to encourage fluid intake. Shred some roast chicken and pour over boiling water. Let cool. Others find some tuna in water is helpful.
