Tummy trouble

This morning Maisy did a bit of bile sick (not that unusual) but after that she was not herself, lots of stretching, couldn't sit or lie down without discomfort. She did a poo and a wee after a short walk then when we got home she was showing signs of discomfort again and brought up a lot more bile, nothing else though, very clingy with me too.

After that she was right as rain and full of beans again, wanting to go out and getting all excited. Got to work, I gave her breakfast, 20 minutes later she is stretching again, can't get comfortable, desperately wanted to go outside. So I let her out and she has been furiously eating greenery, now she is back in and full of life again.

At the moment she is ok again but I'm obviously worried.

Does anyone have experience of this? Should I stop her meals to let her tummy rest for a bit?

I am with her constantly @Anne123 , she is not on her own.
I regret giving her breakfast now but she was so lively and normal.

The vet told me once that if there was a blockage then her gums would remain white for a bit after pressing them, they go pink quickly so that is probably a good sign. When she was poorly earlier her heart was racing a bit but now it is back to being steady. I keep massaging her tummy hoping it gives her some relief

I had the same with Echo a few days ago. He threw everything up, including water. He was also bouncy then quiet then bouncy then quiet. The vet gave him anti-sickness medicine and said it was probably a bug. Looks like it was as he’s been fine since. I was also worried about a blockage as he hadn’t pood - but it seems he just had nothing to poo.

Hope Maisy is better soon xx

Thanks @Boogie , it's weird isn't it, bouncy then quiet. Maisy has had anti-sickness meds before, they made her throw up!
Maybe they have both just eaten something they shouldn't or like your vet said, just a bug. 🤞

Breakfast has come back up, more foliage devoured and she is in awful discomfort. I have got a cancellation at the vets at 2.15. Since making the appointment she has settled down and stopped stretching and wandering. I will still go just so they can examine her and hopefully give her something that can ease any future discomfort should it return. Seeing her in such a state is very difficult, I just know that asking the vet for advice will mean going there but I couldn't help it.

Thanks everyone, we are back and all is ok.

No obstruction or tenderness that the vet could find, he seems to think it will pass and gave a jab for helping the tummy which is also an anti-sickness drug so I hope it doesn't react like last time and make her sick. Apparently buscopan can be given to dogs for tummy ache so that is useful to know.

I also weighed Maisy and she is only 31.5 kilos, last time she was 34!

I did have to deal with a Rottweiler - the receptionist! I wanted to pay cash as I only had my works credit card on me, you'd think I was asking her to do a naked tango for all the fuss she made. Tutting whilst reaching for a new box of gloves, gloving up to handle my disgusting £80. I told her she didn't need gloves, just sanitise your hands afterwards. For goodness sake, some of us have to handle cash all day but we just clean our hands each time. Very huffy old trout, still when I got back I got an email saying I had won £10 on the postcode lottery

Glad Maisy is fine. Massaging the tummy is a good thing—dogs and humans. Helps move things along and relaxes the gut muscles.

Nice to end the experience with a win!
