Walking both the boys this morning across our local rec, both being very well behaved, when Toffee suddenly dashed behind me. Tried to call him back to heel when I realised another lab, off lead, had appeared behind me. Before I knew what was happening all three were jumping on one another and I had let go of the leads  . The other owner stood at a distance calling his dog, who, in normal lab fashion, totally ignore him. I made a grab for Toffee’s lead and ended up on my bottom as I skidded across the muddy field.
I shouted for the other owner to help and Toffee decided it was time he said hello to him and dashed off. Eventually the owner came across to me, returned Toffee and then said 'Good Morning' , I’m sure if he’d had a hat he would have doffed it. I was so taken aback I apologised for not noticing his dog had run up behind me :hmm:.

Lesson learned, you’re never really in control, and don’t apologise for the behaviour of someone else’s dog :shake:.

It happens, but is very humiliating when you end up on the floor.
It happened to me once and looking back on it is worse than when it happened - I was scrabbling around like a mad thing trying to get hold of Maisy's lead whilst she was bouncing around with an equally keen spaniel. Covered in mud I was, it hurts to think about it

I think it's a Scottish thing.. we apologise a lot  even to inanimate objects! not the first time i've walked into a wall and apologised :$

Pair of skis or roller blades would assist or those funny trainers that have wheels in them...

Hope you are OK and not too sore, but don't apologies for someones dog...

I bruise pretty easily so I have the beginnings of a shiny blue black bottom
Hope its soon better. Fred once pulled me over at dog club in a lovely muddy field. Fred stopped and I just lay there looking up at the trainer, who asked if I was ok :giggl: Fred never did it again but I was so embarrassed.
