New vet just rang, this is now the managing vet who is dealing with him. MUCH more explanatory than yesterday’s yet.
He HAS had an ultrasound already
(apparently they told OH) which revealed that the gas wasn’t moving in his stomach. The ileus is suspected because whilst nothing can actually be seen his stomach just isn’t working - the vet said she had seen it before where they have had an upset stomach which has affectively put the stomach into ‘shock’ and that’s why the food has built up (turns out that’s why your meant to feed tiny meals after a stomach upset of easily digestible food).
Will know more by 11 apparently.
If it’s an ileus they will ‘flush him out’ medically with a solution that will break down the contents of his stomach. If the barium hasn’t moved this morning then it’s surgery.
