She's doing really well thank you. She's beginning to get fed up with short on-lead walks which I think shows she's not in pain/discomfort. She was a little bit sick first thing this morning (just phlegm) so I haven't given the metacam today. Still no news from the vet as to whether there were any cancer cells in the margin. Stitches come out next Monday.

Oh Joy, the waiting is a nightmare I know , I actually had to ring our Vets to get the result as someone had forgotten to ring me , maybe ring the Vets if you havent heard by tomorrow ?

I had a call from the vet (the practice but not the vet who did the surgery) this evening. Mixed news. The good bit is that there were no cancer cells in the margin removed. However the lump has been graded as low to intermediate and she said that this means it could already have spread to the lymph glands and/or abdomen. She said there are more test results still to come but I couldn't really understand what she was saying (she had a very strong accent - Spanish I think - and either she wasn't explaining well or I wasn't taking it in) , though I think she said the further results will show the prognosis. I hope I can speak to someone in person on Monday and get a clearer understanding.
Molly seems well and just wants to have proper walks again.

I’m sorry you didn’t get a definitive “no cancer” answer. Hopefully on Monday you’ll get a clearer explanation and that it’s all good news. I know for myself that I can’t hear anything properly when I’m anxious, it’s usually all a blur.

Low to intermediate grade doesn’t sound like tumour spread is very likely... I hope you get a clearer picture soon and can ask more questions. Can you call on Friday?

As Swampy has said, face to face is usually more satisfactory. Maybe draw up a list of questions to take with you? Sorry you haven't yet had the good news you're hoping for and keeping

Oh Joy , this waiting is just awful for you . I am suspecting it is maybe Immuno Histo Chemistry test being carried out which is the most accurate test for most canine cancers . Thank goodness dear Molly is in ignorant bliss and I am very sorry , agree with the others to make a list if questions , we forget so much when under such stress xxx

I also forget everything that they say and forget to get ask questions. I now write my questions down before the visit or call.
